How did you hear about us?

Dependent on Prescription Glasses or Contact Lenses?

Laser eye surgery aims to reduce or eliminate your dependency on glasses or contact lenses. However, not everyone who wears glasses or contact lenses is suitable for laser eye surgery. Without a doubt, attending an initial screening at London Vision Clinic will determine your suitability for laser eye surgery.

If you wear prescription glasses or contact lenses :

Prescription is only the starting point

The vast majority of clinics you contact will immediately qualify or disqualify you based on prescription alone. Many clinics turned down our patients over the phone without even an assessment before they came to see us. Fortunately, many patients that were previously rejected at other clinics have been accepted at London Vision Clinic:

I have gone from 50 years of wearing specs that have been of the highest prescription +8.75, and therefore of the thickest lenses, to absolute freedom, without the need to use even the lowest reading lens for the telephone directory. — Shaena W., Hotel Reservations Manager from Oxford

In contrast, we consider prescription (glasses or contact lenses) to be only the first of many suitability factors that we check and double-check during your pre-operative assessment. Many patients have already refused to allow the severity of their prescriptions to delay them any longer, and now enjoy the vision they have always wanted:

Should have done it sooner. -10 in both eyes, to best vision I have ever had. Two stage procedure (planned) ensured excellent results. —Paul R., Telecommunications from Fyfield, Essex

We consider all prescriptions

We consider patients with all ranges of prescription. Whether you are mildly or severely shortsighted, longsighted, with or without astigmatism, (even if you've never had a prescription and only need reading glasses or varifocals) we will screen your suitability for laser eye surgery or other forms of refractive surgery if applicable. Contact a patient education consultant on 0800 587 4705 to learn more about our experience in treating the widest range of prescriptions.
