Marine Gobbe:Research Optometrist

Maintaining the best laser eye surgery results in the world means recruiting the most expert and dedicated staff possible. In her role as Research Optometrist, Marine Gobbe exemplifies the high calibre of people working at the London Vision Clinic.

As part of our laser eye research team, Marine works with Research Manager Tim Archer both to analyse the results of every surgery, and to research new advances in laser eye surgery.

An ideally qualified Research Optometrist

Marine is well qualified for this role. A native of France, she graduated in Optometry from the Orsay (Paris-Sud) University - one of France's largest and most highly regarded scientific and research universities - in 1999.

After moving to the UK in 2002 to work in research, Marine completed a PhD in vision research. Her clinical optometry expertise is the perfect complement to Tim's specialist technical programming and LASIK research work.

Before she joined the team at the London Vision Clinic, Marine worked as a Research Optometrist in the contact lens field, and as a private optometrist in a number of independent practices.

The London Vision Clinic is virtually unique in maintaining this dedicated research team. Marine's laser eye research is instrumental in ensuring we continue to set standards to which others can only aspire.

What our patients are saying

What do you define a miracle to be? Just supposing after 50 years you could suddenly stop wearing specs full time and be able to see clearly and even read the telephone directory. A miracle? I should say so.
