How Should I Be Getting Home After Laser Eye Surgery?
It is not essential for patients to travel home with someone. Many patients attend the clinic on their own and are able to travel home quite safely after Laser Eye Surgery. At the London Vision Clinic we advise patients to return home or to their hotel by taxi. This is because we ask them to keep their eyes closed for the few first hours after the treatment and getting on a tube or bus would make this advice difficult to abide by.
We advise patients to be driven or to take over ground trains. We do not recommend taking the London Underground in the first 2 days after surgery.
Mr Carp advices a taxi ideally to get home or to hotel, as ideally adviced to keep eyes closed for the first few hours after the surgery.

“I was extremely short sighted and had spent my life struggling but coping pretty well. I was nervous about the procedure but it was not as bad as I had anticipated. Believe me, it is probably one of the best things I have ever done. Minus 12 – 20-20!” -Lindsay Shepherd
