Had the best experience at the London Vision Clinic. From my initial appointment to surgery to my 1 month check up I received the most outstanding treatment from all the team. Special mention to my optometrist Amir for his kind and lovely manner and my surgeon Mr Carp for his expertise and constant reassurance. Would totally recommend everyone who wears glasses to have it done and have a life free of glasses or contact lenses! 5 stars service!

Best decision I ever made! I had my eyes corrected for long and short and now have 20/20 vision. The care at LVC was exceptional. Glenn, the surgeon, was so calm and supportive throughout. The surgery doesn’t hurt at all (I felt nothing) and is over in minutes. I got a cab home alone afterwards and was back at work next day. It takes a while for your eyes to adjust to the new sight, bit blurry at first, but every day it improves. Trust the process. After care is also straightforward, with regular eye check ups with Nabila and you can call if you are concerned about anything.

Excellent communication and support from start to finish. I have worn glasses since I was 11 - a full 22 years to date! Really affected my confidence and my sports performance. I had been struggling with contact lenses for a couple of years now as they dried my eyes. I decided to have laser eye surgery, and found the LVC as the leading clinic in SMILE. I preferred SMILE to LASIK due to its lower complication rates and lower risk of dry eye. My testing appointment lasted about 2 hours and was extremely thorough and the feedback clear. I then needed to condense my appointments around the time of surgery into one week as I had to travel into London, and the team facilitated this. My pre-op with Mr Carp was excellent - lovely rapport, really put me at ease, clarified my queries and made me feel more confident about the procedure. The day of the procedure was seamless - arrived at 9.20 am, saw the nurse in a private room to discuss post-op care, she applied antibiotic and anaesthetic drops and at around 10 am I was greeted in the operating theatre by Mr Carp and his team. He was reassuring and communicative throughout, and I was done within 10 min. He checked the surface of my corneas on the microscope and then led me to a recovery room where my partner was waiting for me. One of the team applied further drops, a taxi was organised and I was taken to our hotel, where I rested with my eyes closed, having regular drops as instructed, for a few hours. I had my first post-op appointment with Mr Carp the following day, which was once again reassuring. I could already see a lot better. I went home and over the course of 2-3 weeks my eyesight completely normalised. I had a 3 week check with the optometrist yesterday, which was super positive, and took more drops home. I was so nervous ahead of the procedure - had I known it would have been this easy, I would have done it a long time ago!

Here’s the best advice I can offer: don’t cut corners when it comes to your eyes. Yes, there are cheaper options out there - but ask yourself, do you really want to bargain-hunt for Laser Eye Surgery?

I went to a budget provider for an initial assessment, and the red flags were enough to send me straight into the professional, reassuring care of the London Vision Clinic.

Despite living in Cornwall, I was more than willing to travel and pay a bit extra because I knew I’d be in the best hands in the country.

The results? 20/20 vision and no lasting side effects. That’s not to say there weren’t any side effects initially. But I followed the aftercare instructions, used the eye drops, stayed patient, and within 1–3 months (the time flew by), everything settled. One year on, my eyes are perfect.

If you're on the fence, like I was, consider this: if the outcome isn’t ideal, will you be able to live with the fact that you chose the cheaper option? I knew I couldn’t. When you invest in the best, you minimise your regrets.

Every patient’s experience will differ, but what stood out at London Vision Clinic was the honest consultation with a surgeon who clearly explained the risks and genuinely cared about my wellbeing. Other clinics I visited were alarmingly dismissive - waving away concerns and acting as if complications were a non-issue. That was a huge red flag.

In short: take your time and ask questions, but don’t compromise on quality when it comes to your vision.

Having recently had my Smile Surgery performed by Professor Dan at the London Vision Clinic, I am absolutely delighted. The process as a patient is a breeze. Everyone you meet is so genuinely caring and remember you by name even if they haven’t seen you for a while! Rhiannon coordinated everything brilliantly, Emma the Optometrist explained everything perfectly, and Dan made the actual surgery completely painless and stress free, it was astonishingly quick! If you’re thinking about laser eye surgery disbelieve all the myths, don’t doubt it and give them a call! You’ll be saying at the end of it what we all say, “Why didn’t I do it sooner?!”. From my first dealings with the Clinic every member of staff was friendly and helpful. It was an excellent experience, and I am extremely happy with my new eyesight following lens replacement. I was nervous before the procedure, but they put me at my ease and everything went really smoothly. Wish I had had it done years ago.

Very happy with the service, all aspects explained perfectly, all tests very rigorous. Being able to read my phone and music without glasses on stage has been a revalation, I'm 3 months in and although still some adjustments going on with my eyes and brain there is constant improvement and I'm very happy with the results. (this was all explained to me and I understand it's not total immediate perfection, but everything progressing well) Lovely polite kind people at every level and they happily accommodated by turning up and hour late for an appointment.

I experienced a great customer service with a clear timetable from the initial check-up to the subsequent surgery, including when medication was needed, which was very convenient for me. And have recovered well from the follow up check up.
