Dr Timothy Archer, MA(Oxon) DipCompSci(Cantab) PhD has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Oxford and a postgraduate degree in computer science from Cambridge. After finishing university, he joined the London Vision Clinic where he has specialised in laser refractive surgery research since 2003. Working with Professor Reinstein, Mr Carp and the other members of the research team, he has been responsible for 124 publication in the scientific peer-reviewed literature, 32 book chapters, and 106 articles in the ophthalmic press.
He has delivered 48 presentations at international conferences and training courses and has overseen the preparation of 978 lectures for London Vision Clinic. Since 2016, this has culminated in London Vision Clinic 4-day training courses run twice a year as well as providing lecture materials for the Ulster University Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery (Theory). In 2018, he was an editor, together with Professor Reinstein and Mr Carp, for the textbook The Surgeon’s Guide to SMILE which also included 16 hours of narrated video. Also in 2018, he completed a PhD in biomedical science at Ulster University.
