Our Contributions to Refractive Surgery Research

Professor Reinstein

Today, Laser Eye Surgery is an easily accessible yet life-changing procedure that more people than ever before have at their fingertips. With Laser Eye Surgery clinics popping up on high streets up and down the country, it would be easy to think that there are few improvements to be made in the field. But we refute this.

In fact, we’re dedicated to conducting vital research and continuing to push the limits of refractive surgery, as we have done since our clinic opened its doors more than 20 years ago.

Always Striving for the Best

Since our founder, Professor Dan Reinstein, launched the London Vision Clinic in 2002, we have been dedicating to providing the best service and achieving the best outcomes possible for our patients. We have implemented a range of protocols to achieve this goal, including:

This dedication has helped to make us one of the world’s leading Laser Eye Surgery providers. With advanced screening methods and state-of-the-art treatments, we are able to treat more patients and a wider range of prescriptions than most other clinics.

What’s more, we have achieved some of the best patient outcomes in the industry, with the vast majority of our patients achieving our Results and Statistics page.

But still, we are not satisfied.

Improving the Laser Eye Surgery Field with Our Own Research

London Vision Clinic was founded by expert Laser Eye Surgeon, Professor Dan Reinstein, in 2002. Since then, Dr Dan and our dedicated team has made some significant contributions to refractive surgery research. But Professor Reinstein’s appreciation of high-quality research began much earlier.

Since 1991, Dr Dan, alongside other refractive surgery experts, has published over 175 peer-reviewed publications, exploring a range of topics relevant to the refractive surgery field. Much of the research for these publications was conducted right here at our Harley Street clinic, and we continue to conduct important research and publish our findings to this day.

Our expert surgeons and dedicated research team are constantly analysing our results. This is a vital step in identifying any opportunities for improvements that could allow us to achieve even better results in the future.

We are honoured to be one of the few clinics in the UK with access to the resources required for this endeavour. Moreover, we are proud that the work of our staff has contributed to some of the most influential tools in Laser Eye Surgery, including the Artemis Insight 100™ Ultrasound Scanner (the world’s most accurate corneal scanner) and the Carl Zeiss Meditec MEL 90 Excimer laser.

Training the Next Generation of Laser Eye Surgery Experts

Our dedication to the betterment of the Laser Eye Surgery field doesn’t end at our research. We also host a range of training courses, offering surgeons from around the world the opportunity to further their education and learn about the latest techniques in the field.
