Back in Focus: Businesswoman Sees the World More Clearly After Laser Eye Surgery

Geeta Sidhu-Robb, winner of the “2010 Entrepreneur of the Year” and “Business Woman of the Year” awards, admits she was “petrified” when it came to Laser Eye Surgery. Thinking about the procedure changed her usually driven and focused mindset into a quivering mass of doubt:
“Despite realising that it was an irrational fear, I just couldn’t control it. Starting a Successful Business
Sidhu-Robb started Nosh in 2008 after being inspired by her son, who was born with multiple food allergies and anaphylaxis. When Geeta was unable to find the advice and help she needed, she decided to develop her own solutions, with nutritious balanced meals, alternative therapies, and natural supplements. With her products, she saw massive improvements in her son’s eczema (which had previously covered him from head to toe) and his asthma attacks were reduced to only intermittent events.

However, behind the scenes, only her close friends and family know that alongside her hectic work schedule – which often included overseas travel and media appearances – Geeta was struggling with poor eyesight – and a crippling fear of doing something about correcting it.
Plucking Up the Courage for Laser Eye Surgery
Even being childhood friends with our very own founder and expert surgeon, Professor Dan Reinstein, wasn’t initially enough to settle her nerves. Their children were at the same school together, so Geeta managed to pick Dr Dan’s brains about the procedure. Still, it took several conversations before she felt ready to make her first appointment at our Harley Street clinic.

Eventually, though, Geeta managed to overcome her fears. After depending on glasses for her -7.5 D prescription since childhood, her desire to ditch the glasses and contact lenses finally won out over her fear of the treatment.
“Of course, the experience was not nearly as bad as I had expected – it was not even remotely painful. It was all over quickly and I couldn’t believe how wonderful it was to be able to see clearly immediately afterwards.”
